King Charles III’s coronation will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London.
It is important to recognise the importance of the monarchy in Great Britain. It is deeply-rooted in the lives of all the British and this ceremony will not be forgotten easily. We, as teachers of English, have to make students be aware of this important historical event, no matter if we mind it or not. Culture is a key in every foreign language. They have to learn relevant facts of the language they are studying and to value the impact these have in the world they live in.
Millions of people across the UK and beyond are preparing to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III – a symbolic ceremony combining a religious service and pageantry.
It is being held at Westminster Abbey on 6 May and the King, who will be crowned along with Camilla, the Queen Consort, will be the 40th reigning monarch crowned there since 1066.
During the ceremony, the King will be crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort.
