MYTHOMAPS – RAMA & SITA, THE ORIGIN OF DIWALI, A LEGEND FROM INDIA

MYTHOMAPS is the name of a school task where students analyse world myths and legends. As part of the School Linguistic Project, the aims comprise the use of linguistic skills, in the oral and written mediums, as well a detailed study of the topics developed.

Rama and Sita.

Sita is a Hindu goddess and the heroine of the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Sita is known for her dedication, self-sacrifice, courage and purity. Sita, in her youth, chooses Rama, the prince as her husband in a bride choosing the best from a crowd of suitors after a contest, where Rama proves his heroism and martial power and «defeats» the other seekers.

Listen to what the student has to say:

Ariadna Piñeiro Carpintero telling the story of Rama & Sita.
