TIME TRAVELLERS’ ALMANAC – EPISODE 1: QUEEN ELIZABETH I & GEOFFREY CHAUCER

Since the beginning of the second term, students in 3rd year CSE have been preparing this project which, we hope, you enjoy.

Time Travellers’ Almanac, our Historia Regum Britanniae will appear on Mondays and Fridays from the 26th February to the 2nd April. Students have prepared brief posts including 33 British celebrities: writers, scientists, artists, politicians, inventors, explorers, activists, kings and queens, fictional characters, legends, musicians, actors and so on. Their job consists in giving us the opportunity to know more details about their lives and careers.

Our Time Travellers’ Almanac is an overview of the history of Great Britain since its early years till the 21st century.

Daniela Ruano Martínez as Queen Elizabeth I

The funniest detail will be the characterization: they must recreate an atmosphere of the times/periods where the personalities lived, that is, bring the characters to life with costumes and apparel in a photograph.

In this sense, our almanac will be an audiovisual document because students will research not only the life details of all the celebs to record a sound evidence but also the image that has survived with the passing of time up till now.

Juan Carlos Manchado Reyero as Geoffrey Chaucer

Our first programme is about the iconic Queen Elizabeth I (1533 – 1603) and the medieval writer, Geoffrey Chaucer (1343-1400).

We hear Daniela Ruano Martínez as Queen Elizabeth I and Juan Carlos Manchado Reyero as Geoffrey Chaucer, the author of The Canterbury Tales.
